Handling contact lenses with fingers may transfer oils, dirt, and microorganisms to the lens surface. While handwashing is recommended before handling lenses, it may not always be sufficient or possible in certain situations. Using tweezers and an applicator provides a more hygienic method for inserting contact lenses. Avoid direct finger contact with lenses to help reduce the risk of eye irritation and contamination.
