Solidago Golden Dwarf. Golden Rod.

SOLIDAGO Golden Dwarf \nCommonly known as Golden Rod but occasionally referred to as Aaron’s Rod. \nNative to the prairies and riverbanks of North America and once seen in cottage gardens everywhere this wonderful perennial is now enjoying a welcome revival. \nSolidago Golden Dwarf forms compact mounds of dark green, lance shaped leaves and from early July until September these mounds are topped by upright sprays or plumes of soft, lemon-yellow, mimosa-like flower-heads. \nThese flower-heads are marvellous as cut flowers and are very long lasting in the vase. \nAt its best when used at the front or in the middle of either herbaceous or mixed borders where the late summer/early autumn colour can be best appreciated. \nAlthough primarily a border plant Golden Rod can also be grown successfully in pots and containers for use on the patio. \nUnlike its much taller parents this excellent hybrid rarely if ever reaches more than 60cm high with a spread of only 45cm and needs no staking. \nHardy and very easy to grow Solidago Golden Dwarf prefers a site in full sun with free draining and somewhat infertile soil. \nAfter flowering has finished plants should be cut down to ground level and if clumps have become big or over crowded they should also be divided at this time. \n All pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year. \nOur plants of Solidago are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nFor tips on how to grow this plant visit Ben Hamilton Anderson . \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nOur wide and varied range of Perennials can be view here. \nPlease remember, plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Solidago is a living item and its appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\n We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Golden Rod are checked and inspected visually before packing. at .  . Due to the nature of the product we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll.
