Care instructions - Light: Place in bright, indirect light, less than 2 metres from a filtered south- or east-facing window. It tolerates moderate light (up to 6 metres from a window), but richer light brings out the size of the leaves and the chocolate tones. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage. - Water: Water with 0.5 cups every 9 days for a 12 cm pot, once the top 2-3 cm of soil are dry. Let the soil dry out between waterings to keep the roots healthy. Water more often in spring and summer and less often in winter. Drooping leaves indicate underwatering, while yellow ones suggest overwatering. Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50-60%). It also copes with lower humidity; instead of frequent misting, a humidifier or a tray with pebbles and water is the ideal solution. - Temperature: Keep between 18-29°C, ideally 20-26°C. Avoid temperatures below 15°C, cold draughts or proximity to heat sources. - Substrate and feeding: Use a well-draining mix rich in natural matter, with coconut coir, perlite and peat moss, at pH 5.5-6.5. Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser (e.g. 10-10-10), diluted to half strength. Repot annually or whenever it doubles in size, in spring.
