Notes on the use and operation of this meter: This valve contains a built-in overflow relief valve designed to stop the flow of gas in the event of a cut or large leak in the pipe below the gas line. This prevents gas from flowing through when it is not connected to the device, i.e. if you were to connect it to a gas cylinder, and then open the gas cylinder, the gas would not flow through because there would be no connection under the pipe. Once connected to the regulator and gas appliance, the display dial must be pressed inward to allow gas flow, as it has a push/pull button function that controls the flow valve.
