It has a three-level gain switch that provides 20dB, 0dB or -10dB boost to prevent distortion caused by audio overload. It also has a switchable 80Hz low-cut filter to eliminate unwanted noise and low-frequency rumble. The lightweight microphone attaches easily to any camera with a 3 mic jack 5 mm. It comes with a very good quality shock mount to help eliminate vibrations that generate unwanted noise.
