Symptom description of fuel pump relay malfunction:
Multiple attempts to start may most commonly occur when the vehicle is cold in the morning. The problem worsens over time and ultimately cannot be initiated at all. The vehicle behaves as if it's out of gas. Due to the fuel pump relay being stuck in the closed open position, there is unexplained battery consumption. If you listen from behind after the vehicle is turned off, you may hear the fuel pump running. Even if a new battery or fuel pump is installed, battery consumption may still occur.
If the vehicle stalls during driving, you can only slide to a stop. This situation is sometimes related to the fuel pump relay, but it may also be due to thermal expansion issues inside the TIPM or other electrical components.
The vehicle cannot start, it seems to be out of gas. Jumping the vehicle can solve the starting problem, as the fuel pump relay performs better at higher voltages. When starting the vehicle, you rely on a battery voltage of approximately 12.50 VDC. If you jump start from another moving vehicle, you will apply a voltage of nearly 14.0 VDC to the vehicle because the AC generator outputs a higher voltage.
